Apple Pie Bagel French Toast (Gluten-Free, Nut-Free, Dairy-Free)

We combined our two most favorite breakfast foods and the results are... STUNNING 🤩 

Here's what you'll need:

🍎 1 bagel or 2 slices of bread (we used GF)

🍎 1 egg

🍎 ½ cup almond milk

🍎 1 tsp vanilla extract

🍎 1 tsp cinnamon

For the apple pie topping:

🍎 1 apple, diced into cubes

🍎 1 tbsp coconut oil or ghee

🍎 2 tbsp maple syrup

🍎 Spoonful of Original Granola Butter®

🍎 1 tsp vanilla extract

🍎 2 tbsp water

🍎 Sprinkle of cinnamon

🍎 Optional topping: greek or coconut yogurt

 

Here's what you'll do:

🍎 In a shallow bowl, add your egg and whisk. Then, add in the almond milk, vanilla extract, and cinnamon; set aside.

🍎 Add 1 tbsp of coconut oil or ghee to a skillet over medium-high heat.

🍎 Dunk the halves of the bagel into the egg mixture and then flip to ensure both sides of the bagel halves are coated.

🍎 Place dunked slices on the hot skillet and cook until golden brown on each side.

🍎 To make the apple pie topping, add the diced apple to a small saucepan over medium-high heat.

🍎 Add in the coconut oil or ghee, maple syrup, Original Granola Butter®, and water. Mix and let bubble around for a couple minutes.

🍎 Add the vanilla and cinnamon, mix, and continue to let it bubble until it has thickened and the apples are soft and tender.

🍎 Top the french toast with apple pie topping, more Original Granola Butter®, and yogurt if desired!
